If you’re one of the many who relish the joy of eating this healthy and delectable fruit, why don’t you grow your own blueberry garden in upside down planters? Here are the reasons why you should start doing so right now.

It is easy.

Yes, growing berries in an upside down planter is easy. How? Keep reading. Before planting blueberries, or any crop for that matter, you need to check the soil condition, moisture in the air, and availability of sunlight. These are unnecessary. Just fill a planter with good organic or peat soil. Then, hang it in an area where sunlight is available throughout the day. Plant at least two varieties. This is to encourage pollination and allow you to grow big blueberries. Water the plants regularly and watch them grow. That’s it.

It allows you to grow blueberries inside the house!

Birds will be your natural enemies when growing blueberries outside. They can swoop down and eat the fruits before you had the chance to pick them. Find an area in the house with windows that allow the sunlight in and you can grow blueberries inside. This way, you never have to worry about those darn birds again.

It can be done in any weather and season.

Is it the dead of winter or early spring? It doesn’t matter. You can grow upside down blueberries in any season or weather. Because of this, there is no deterrent for you to grow huge blueberries. You can make a blueberry cheesecake for Christmas dinner or eat fresh blueberries during an April shower.

Harvesting and eating blueberries that you planted is a reward in itself. Motivate yourself with the thought of having fresh berries at hand all year round. After all, upside down planters made things even simpler and easier. Isn’t it about time you started planting?

Although planting blueberries upside down removes seasonal and weather issues that deter the blueberries’ growth, it is still worth knowing what kind of blueberry is best suited to your area. Knowing the different varieties will help you choose which ones to cross-pollinate because cross-pollination is essential to more fruits. It will also help you grow huge blueberries.

Highbush
This is the most common type of blueberry that produces fruits you can purchase in most groceries. This kind adapts to the cold weather well so they are generally cultivated in the Northern and Eastern parts of the U.S. Highbush blueberries are aptly called because they can grow up to six feet high or over.

Lowbush
Lowbush blueberries grow in dense and springy mats close to the ground. Because of this fact, the lowbush kind look like ground covers. It is the coldest hardy type of blueberry so the climate in the North is ideal for its growth. During the second year of maturation, the bushes produce small fruits, which many refer to as “wild berries.”

Half-high or Midhigh
The half-high (or Midhigh) blueberry is a cross between the highbush and the lowbush. Similar to the highbush kind, this type is cold hardy so it is well suited to the regions in the North.

Rabbiteye
This blueberry kind is known to grow in the Florida and Georgia river valleys. It is suited to the climate in the South and thrives in areas where the summers are long. Rabbiteye tolerate poor soils but require a long growing season. If you are planning to cultivate rabbiteye blueberries, plant at least two varieties because this kind requires cross-pollination. This type of blueberry can grow even taller than a highbush.

Grow blueberries inside for its many benefits. Choose any two of these varieties and grow big blueberries. But whether you live in the North, the South, and anywhere in between, you can be sure to find the perfect blueberry bush to plant in your home.

Whether you’ve heard about upside down blueberry growing yet or not, it doesn’t really matter. Because you will in this write-up. Let it be known that upside down blueberry growing is by FAR the best method of growing blueberries and any other type of similar crops that benefit from perfect sunlight, good air moisture and pressure and a lot of love (See: strawberries, tomatoes, etc).

The first batch of blueberries that you amass from your first attempt at growing them will ensure that you continue to grow them in such a way for the remainder of your life. It’s practically a fact!

Not only is it easy, it also manages to take out a lot of the stress that comes along with growing pretty much anything in the actual ground. If you’ve ever done even a bit of gardening or have a full-blown green thumb, you know that the soil and Earth itself can be a very finicky thing. And by finicky, we mean it can turn you into a raving, cursing lunatic!

If you’ve always loved to garden but wished you could grow things a lot easier — especially in the winter and early spring months — and maybe do so from the comforts (and sometimes warmth!) of your very own home, then upside down blueberry growing is for you. Heck, upside down growing in GENERAL is for you! So what are you waiting for? Hop on the bandwagon today! You’ll most certainly be thanking us for it later!

If you’re in any way connected to the underground world of home gardening or fancy yourself someone with a green thumb, then you’ve very likely heard about upside down blueberries recently. If you haven’t then, well, this article is still for you too, because in the interests of giving a basic overview of what they are, we’ve decided to break it all down for anyone who’s confused about the whole system.

Basically, people over complicate the entire subject — upside down blueberries are just that — blueberries that you grow upside down. The benefits of doing this are obvious to anyone who’s every fretted over soil, sunlight, air circulation and/or air moisture while doing normal gardening. Growing upside down blueberries ensures that the stressors that accompany the aforementioned things are practically non-existent! That is because, all you really need to do is find a well lit (by sunlight… duh!) spot somewhere in your house and garden and hang the blueberry crop right there. Water it daily and give it some normal gardener care and BOOM! You’re good to go and will soon have delicious, plump and juicy blueberries on your hands. Maybe even literally!

Although it might sound a bit peculiar, the best way to research upside down blueberries is to actually grow some yourself. Seriously! It’s not that hard whatsoever and it is most certainly the type of thing that you can “learn by doing”. So what are you waiting for? Go and get your hands on some upside down blueberry growing material and learn what all the fuss is about today!

Upon hearing about upside down blueberry growing, most people tend to scratch their heads and be overcome with a look of puzzlement. Mainly because, you know, they have absolutely no idea what upside down blueberry growing even is.

One could probably blame society for this, since, technically, we tend to over complicate practically everything, no matter what it is or whatever it entails. Upside down blueberry growing consists of exactly what it sounds like: upside down blueberry growing! That’s it!

If you’re not well-versed in the world of gardening, though, then the fact that you grow the blueberries upside down might not mean much. For all of these people, please allow us to paint you a pretty and simple picture. Growing upside down blueberries is important and ground breaking because it not only allows you to grow your very own blueberries in season’s you might not normally be able to do so (like winter and early spring), but it also enables one to actually grow blueberries from within their very own homes!

Yes, seriously! As long as you have a few windows throughout your house that face the sun at any given time throughout the day then you’re good to go and ready to roll! And in the interests of not over complicating it any further, we’re going to leave it at that. If you’d like to grow blueberries inside of your home and have some windows that get decent sunlight throughout the day then you’re eligible to grow your very own upside down blueberries — plain and simple. So what are you waiting for?!
