About
We love blueberries. They are considered to be a super food that is healthy, nutritious, tasty and can be used in many recipes. Early settlers considered the blueberry a convenient staple ingredient in may of their foods and even their medications. They are a great source of vitamin C, are rich in fiber, are low in fat and a great source of disease-fighting antioxidants. What is not to love about the wonderful blueberry?
When I was a young child my grandmother used to grow them in the back yard so that she could always have a fresh supply on hand when wanted. She taught me how to grow them, eat them and bake with them. When I grew up I continued to grow this fabulous berry so that I could have a fresh supply when I wanted a snack, whip up a smoothie, make some juice or even bake up a pie. Over the years I have been looking for new and innovative ways to grow the delicious and nutritious blueberry.
Growing upside down has been used for certain other fruits and vegetables so when I found out that I would be able to also grow blueberries this way I was elated. Since growing them upside down saves me space I am able to grow more blueberries in a lot less space than I was with traditional growing methods. My children are able to participate in the fun and learning experience of growing their own since it is so easy. Growing upside down blueberries has renewed my love of gardening and gives me a great sense of accomplishment every time I see the fruits of my small labour.
It is great to be able to share my passion for growing upside down blueberries with everyone. Even if you don’t think you have a green thumb you will be able to grow gorgeous healthy blueberries that are full of flavour, anti-oxidants and nutrients. I hope my site is able to provide you with the information to be able to help you set up your own upside down blueberry garden.
